Cheyenne Wilderness Retreat CHEYENNE WILDERNESS RETREAT: We were looking for a farm stay within a couple of hours flying time of Sydney where we could do as much or as little as we wanted. Cheyenne Wilderness Retreat on the very edge of the Oxley Wild Rivers National Park proved to be a wonderful venue for just that.

Hosted by Sue and Burgh Blomfield, we took the full board option which meant all our meals were included and the only thing we had to take was alcohol. Burgh, who has worked this farm for 40 years, was only too happy to pick us up from Walcha ALA and give us a running commentary on the half hour drive out to the farm.

The views from the farm are spectacular, the food is great, the accommodation is self contained and the hosts are very willing to meet your every need. In particular it is very child friendly with lots of animals to keep kids busy. A very nice stay and thoroughly recommended.

Evanslea EVANSLEA LUXURY BED & BREAKFAST MUDGEE: Evanslea is a heritage building 1860c which were formally stables, but has now been converted into a very comfortable and stylish home, with that feeling of warmth and relaxation as soon as you are welcomed at the front door, situated only a short walk or drive from the centre of Mudgee.

Evanslea hosts, Vicki and Andrew Hudson, offer a special package to Schofields members - the use of a fully restored Valiant Regal for use when they fly to Mudgee. The car is complete and looks great, and will hold 6 people.

According to Garth Jensen, the service and hospitality at Evanslea is excellent. Visit their website at . (Submited by Garth Jensen on 13 January 2006)

Mallacoota THE SILVER BREAM MOTEL & HOLIDAY FLATS, MALLACOOTA: Your hosts, George and Marion Trewin, are only too happy to do free transfers to & from the airport, they make you feel totally at home and part of the family. The motel is well within walking distance to boat hire, hotel and the town centre. We stayed there for a long weekend and had a ball, accommodation 1st class, meals the same, I highly recommend this place to stay. I have included some extra photos of the area and what happens at feeding time at the motel. This is George and if Marion can drag him away from playing with the natives at feeding time he also has to work in the motel. They will also let you use the internet or fax to get weather.

The motel is located at 32- 34 Maurice Ave, Mallacoota Victoria and you can contact them by phone on (03) 5158 0305. (Submitted by Wayne Russell on 28 April 2005).

Peter and Joanne Pedler are really beautiful people and Joanne is the best cook west of the Great Divide. $115.00 / night double or twin includes breakfast. Bruce Robjohns will do your tours and transfers around White Cliffs for about $25.00 per person. Andamooka ANDAMOOKA DUKES BOTTLEHOUSE MOTEL: I did not know what to expect at Andamooka but after we landed and secured the aircraft two 4x4s turned up and it was Peter and Margot, they own the Motel and had been listening for us to arrive. The accommodation was 3 star and we were given a choice for dinner we could go to the pub or the restaurant next door or eat with them we chose the latter and were we surprised. Entree Boiled eggs and caviar, sushi from Peters family Tuna Boats at Port Lincoln. Mains were Corned Beef Deserts Ice creams all served outside with electric heaters blowing on our feet, and I almost forgot the wines were great as all the girls were talking shorthand by the end of the night. Peter showed us his own private collection of opals and then took us for a tour of the fields. For more details, contact Andamooka Dukes Bottlehouse Motel, 275 Opal Creek Blvd, Andamooka 5722.
